How we work
At Newton we do things differently to other consultancies. We not only advise on change, we also implement and build that change in partnership with our clients, so our impact is made to last. How do we do this? Here is what you can expect when you join us as a Consultant.
We seek, never guess – as every challenge is unique. We approach each one with an open mind, making decisions from data, not gut feel or first impressions.
We work as a team on-site with clients across the country, and globally, so we can deliver the best possible results. Success happens when we work hand-in-hand with clients as partners.
Our Consultants travel across the UK to work directly with clients. It’s dynamic, exciting and no two days are ever the same. If you’re looking for a more practical, hands-on role, with variety and travel, then this is the role for you.
Being a Consultant is anything but a 9-to-5 role and sometimes you’ll have early starts and late finishes. To help you protect your work-life balance, we don’t expect you to leave home before 6am on a Monday, be home later than 6pm on a Friday, or work weekends.
We host fortnightly Review Days in-person. These can be anything from team review days where you discuss and workshop project challenges, to whole company days with key business updates. Review Nights happen before Review Days to relax and meet new colleagues through a variety of engaging activities.
Specialising as a Consultant
Our Consultants spend the first two years building a broad skill set to understand our business and the Newton methodology. After your first two years, you can choose to continue as an Operations Consultant or start to specialise within one of our core capabilities:
Operations Consultant
Our Operations Consultants work hand-in-hand with clients, digging deeper into processes and data than most firms are willing to go to identify opportunities. Working on site – from the shop floor to the board room – they get to the root of complex challenges and work alongside client teams to plan and deliver real, sustainable change.
Digital & AI Consultant
Connected and future-focused, our Digital and AI Consultants identify where data and technology can make a real difference to an organisation and the people they serve. Working on-site with clients, they harness AI, work with new tools and build their own industry-leading solutions to unlock complexity and deliver impact that is guaranteed to land in the real world.
People & Change Consultant
Our People & Change Consultants are experts in making our impact last. Working on-site alongside people at every level of our clients’ organisations, they bring the human side of digital, operational and cultural change to life, ensuring what we deliver is not just implemented, but genuinely embedded and built to endure.

Our teams use data to identify where change is needed and partner with organisations to drive that change; whether that’s improving the delivery of capital projects or maximising workforce productivity.
We’re working with retailers to help them stay ahead of the competition, redefine their supply chain networks and build market agility and resilience. We operate globally across the retail landscape from grocery and apparel to hard goods and general merchandise.
Our work with asset owners and operators is supporting the rapid development of transport infrastructure and ensuring the consistent and high-quality services that communities need.
Our locations
Our consultants are based on-site for each project, so they don’t often spend time in our offices. However, we do have two offices available in the UK, with one in London and one in Oxfordshire.
